Hello Families,
What a wonderful week it’s been! With daylight savings officially coming to an end, we’ve been making the most of the golden autumn afternoons and soaking up every bit of sunshine we can. The children have thoroughly enjoyed spending extra time outdoors, engaging in active play, nature exploration, and enjoying their time with friends.
This week has been jam packed with fun, creativity, and preparation as we get ready for an exciting week ahead!
Easter Market…
Our Easter Market preparations are in full swing! The children, alongside their educators, have been busy creating a beautiful range of handmade arts and crafts to share with you next week. Our market will be running next week, Tuesday to Thursday, 2pm–5pm each day.
All items are available for a gold coin donation (card payments are also welcome), and 100% of proceeds will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital. We know how vital the work of the Royal Children’s is, and many of our families have personally shared heartfelt stories of the care and support they received during difficult times.
The children are beaming with pride and excitement to showcase their creations, and we can’t wait to see you there!
Bush Kinder…
Our Kinder 4s headed out on another wonderful Bush Kinder adventure this week. We were blessed with clear skies and sunshine, perfect for a day of exploration! While the bus ride was a highlight for many, the children also had a fantastic time discovering the natural surroundings, enjoying a picnic lunch, and playing together on the playground.
Bush Kinder is such an important part of our program, offering the children a unique opportunity to connect with nature, develop resilience, and engage in open ended play. We’re so grateful to be able to offer these adventures twice a month.
Gardening with Maree…
We also enjoyed another wonderful gardening session with Maree and Peter, educator Jayde’s lovely grandparents. Our Plant to Plate program continues to be a favourite among the children, and it’s always extra special when we have visitors join us in the garden. During this session, we cleared out our summer vegetables to make way for our winter crops. Together, we planted potatoes, beans, and peas. The children were so engaged and are already excited to watch their new plants grow over the coming weeks and months!
Next week…
Next week may be a short one, but it’s bursting with excitement! Our Easter Market will run from Tuesday to Thursday between 2pm and 5pm, featuring a wonderful range of handmade crafts created by the children. On Thursday, we’ll also be holding our Easter Bonnet Parade, where the children will proudly showcase their creative bonnet designs and enjoy a fun sticker hunt. Please note that we will be closed on Friday for the Good Friday public holiday.
Educator spotlight…
This week, we’re celebrating an incredible duo, Paris and Tial from our Pre Kinder room! Paris, as Room Leader, and Tial, her amazing 2IC, bring an infectious energy and unwavering dedication to our service. Their creativity and teamwork have transformed their room into a magical, engaging, and nurturing learning space.
Together, they create a harmonious and supportive environment where children feel safe, loved, and inspired to explore and learn. We are so lucky to have them as part of our team!
Did you know…
That we have a Recycled Arts Materials Station in the Kinder Hallway? We would love any donations of items such as cardboard, containers, lids from jars, and any other recyclable materials that can inspire our children’s creativity. These materials will be used for a variety of exciting art projects, helping the children to engage in hands-on, imaginative activities while learning about sustainability. If you have any recyclable materials lying around that could be repurposed for art, we would be thrilled to give them a second life in our creative space.
Our favourite social post…
This week, our favourite social media moment was a reel introducing all of our amazing Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs)! We are incredibly proud to have 12 VIT-registered ECTs as part of our team, well above the required two for our service. Each ECT brings unique strengths, passion, and dedication to our service, and we feel so lucky to work alongside them every day. We loved being able to showcase their smiling faces and the important work they do. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch the reel here.
Don’t forget…
We want to take a moment to remind families that we are always accepting donations for our Community Corner. Whether it’s snacks, nappies, clothes, or any other useful items, all donations are deeply appreciated. These contributions help us support families in our Choklits community and ensure that everyone has what they need. If you have anything you’d like to donate, please feel free to drop it off at the front desk.
Just a reminder to stay connected and follow us on social media for the latest updates on everything happening at our service! You can find us on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram (@choklitsearlylearning).
