Choklits Croydon Friday Update April 11th

Happy Friday Families,

Although it’s been a short week with today being Good Friday, we made the most of every moment, filling our days with fun, laughter, and meaningful learning. From joyful activities to special moments in the classroom, it’s been a truly lovely few days!

We’d like to wish you all a beautiful and joyful Easter weekend spent with loved ones. Just a quick reminder, we’ll be closed on Monday for the Easter Monday public holiday.

Easter Market…

By far, the highlight of our week was our Easter Market! The children and educators have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks, pouring love and creativity into incredible homemade items to sell, and this week, it was finally time to bring it all to life.

Our educators beautifully set up the stall out the front of the service, and it was such a joy to see all their hard work come to fruition. The excitement was contagious, and the sense of pride from everyone involved was truly special.

As many of you know, our Easter Market was held to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, a cause that is close to many of our hearts. We’ve had families share how the Royal Children’s Hospital has supported them through incredibly difficult times, and we know how tirelessly the RCH team works to care for children and their families. We’re so proud to be able to contribute to such a meaningful and important cause.

A heartfelt thank you to all our families who came along, purchased items, and donated so generously. Your support means the world to us, and we hope you enjoy your beautiful handmade treasures as much as we enjoyed creating them.

Easter Bonnet Parade…

On Thursday, our children had the chance to shine in our much loved Easter Bonnet Parade! After weeks of hard work and creativity, they proudly showed off their incredible handmade bonnets and what a spectacular sight it was! Each child brought their own unique flair to their designs, and it was amazing to see the wide variety of colourful, imaginative creations on display. This is a special tradition we look forward to each year, and once again, it brought so much joy, laughter, and celebration to our week.

Educator spotlight…

This week, we’re excited to shine a light on Abbey, one of our wonderful Toddler educators!

Abbey joined us in early 2024 as a student, and after completing her Certificate III, she quickly became an integral part of our Toddler team. From day one, Abbey has brought warmth, positivity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.

She’s a friendly and familiar face to both children and families, always greeting everyone with a warm smile and making each person feel truly welcome. Abbey shows incredible initiative, consistently asking thoughtful questions and showing a strong commitment to learning and growing in her role.

We are so proud of Abbey and the dedication she brings to our team each day. We can’t wait to see her continue to flourish and make a lasting impact as an educator!

Did you know…

That we have a new Recycled Arts Materials Station in the Kinder Hallway? We would love any donations of items such as cardboard, containers, lids from jars, and any other recyclable materials that can inspire our children’s creativity. These materials will be used for a variety of exciting art projects, helping the children to engage in hands-on, imaginative activities while learning about sustainability. If you have any recyclable materials lying around that could be repurposed for art, we would be thrilled to give them a second life in our creative space.

Our favourite social post…

We loved sharing a behind the scenes look at all the creativity and effort that went into preparing for our Easter Market. Our favourite post this week was a reel showcasing the children hard at work on their beautiful handmade creations and it’s just too sweet not to share again! Watch it here: Easter Market Reel

Just a reminder to stay connected and follow us on social media for the latest updates on everything happening at our service! You can find us on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram (@choklitsearlylearning).

Next week…

Next week will be a short one, as we’ll be closed on Monday for Easter Monday and again on Friday for Anzac Day. That means we’ll be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only. If your family is planning to be away on any of those days, please let us know as it really helps us with planning and staffing.

Don’t forget…

We want to take a moment to remind families that we are always accepting donations for our Community Corner. Whether it’s snacks, nappies, clothes, or any other useful items, all donations are deeply appreciated. These contributions help us support families in our Choklits community and ensure that everyone has what they need. If you have anything you’d like to donate, please feel free to drop it off at the front desk.

We’d love your help to help us improve at Choklits…
