Hello Families,
What a wonderful week we have had! We finally welcomed some cooler weather, which gave the children plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor play. They had so much fun running, climbing, and jumping around. One of the highlights was our daily open gate time, where the children have the chance to explore both yards. This is a special time for multi-aged learning, and it’s always wonderful to see siblings connect and share experiences. It’s amazing to watch how the children’s social skills expand during these moments.
St Patrick’s Day…
On Monday, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with lots of fun arts and crafts! The children loved making shamrocks, rainbows, and exploring the themes of luck and friendship. It was a creative and festive way to start the week.
Cultural Diversity Week…
We also celebrated Cultural Diversity Week and Harmony Week. Our educators led lots of activities and discussions surrounding the importance of inclusion, respect, and learning about the diverse backgrounds that make our community so special. On Friday, our educators wore traditional clothing from their cultures and shared food from their backgrounds. It was a great opportunity for the children to engage in meaningful learning about different cultures.
Educator spotlight…
This week, we wanted to highlight Tanaya and her wonderful yoga program. Tanaya is a friendly face who has built strong, respectful and loving relationships with the children. Her yoga sessions are a favourite, offering a blend of movement, mindfulness, and fun. The children love how Tanaya makes each session engaging and enjoyable, helping them practice balance, breathing, and relaxation.
We are so grateful for all that Tanaya brings to our community, especially her bright, smiley personality that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. To learn more about Tanaya’s yoga program and its benefits, check out our blog here.
Ride to Kinder Day…
On Friday, we had our annual Ride at Kinder Day! This is one of our favourite days of the year. The children brought their bikes, scooters, and tricycles and got to ride around a pre-set course. It was so much fun and a great way to start learning about road safety, signage, and how to navigate their vehicles safely. The children had a blast and learned valuable skills that will help them as they grow.
Did you know…
That we have a new Recycled Arts Materials Station in the Kinder Hallway? We would love any donations of items such as cardboard, containers, lids from jars, and any other recyclable materials that can inspire our children’s creativity. These materials will be used for a variety of exciting art projects, helping the children to engage in hands-on, imaginative activities while learning about sustainability. If you have any recyclable materials lying around that could be repurposed for art, we would be thrilled to give them a second life in our creative space.
Our favourite social post…
This week, our favourite reel features Awi’s stunning Nursery Jungle! We are so proud of the hard work that Awi and her team have put into this stunning makeover and would love you to check it out on the Choklits Instagram page.
Next week…
Next week is Photo Week! If you have registered for photos, you can send your child’s photo outfit separately. Just let us know so we can help them change into their clean outfit before their session.
Don’t forget…
We want to take a moment to remind families that we are always accepting donations for our Community Corner. Whether it’s snacks, nappies, clothes, or any other useful items, all donations are deeply appreciated. These contributions help us support families in our Choklits community and ensure that everyone has what they need. If you have anything you’d like to donate, please feel free to drop it off at the front desk.
