Choklits Croydon Friday Update March 28th

Hello Families,

What a fantastic week we’ve had! The cooler weather created the perfect opportunity for the children to enjoy outdoor play, staying comfortable while soaking in the fresh air. Our usual incursions were a big hit, with activities like sustainability, Plant to Plate, yoga, dance, music, and language classes keeping everyone engaged. It was, as always, a week full of fun, learning, and plenty of laughter!

Photo Week…

This week was our annual Photo Week, and we were thrilled to have the talented photographers from Vision Portraits join us to capture beautiful moments of the children. It was heartwarming to see the children so excited to have their photos taken, proudly showing off their outfits. Watching them enjoy the experience was truly a joy, and we can’t wait to see the stunning photos! Our staff also had their yearly photos taken, though with a little less excitement than the children! Nonetheless, it was a successful and memorable week for everyone involved.

Police Visit…

We had the pleasure of hosting a visit from our local police officers, James and Dani, who provided an engaging and informative session with our Kindergarteners. The children were excited to learn about the importance of safety, including topics like wearing seatbelts and crossing the street safely. To make the experience even more exciting, each child received a junior constable sticker and an activity book to take home, allowing them to feel like real police officers for the day. The fun didn’t stop there! The children also had the chance to learn how handcuffs work and even tried them on their educators! As a grand finale, we went outside for an up close look at a real police car, where the children got to wear police hats, sit in the car, and turn on the sirens. It was a fun and educational experience that brought smiles all around and our educators had just as much fun as the children! A big thank you to James and Dani for making this visit so memorable for everyone!

Educator spotlight…

This week, we want to take a moment to highlight the incredible impact Sally has in our Kinder 3 room and the joy she brings to our service every single day. Sally is a kind, supportive, and warm hearted educator who has built strong, meaningful relationships with both the children and the staff. Her positive attitude and beautiful, cheeky smile brighten everyone’s day and are a true highlight for all of us.

In addition to her wonderful presence, Sally has shared her amazing piano talents with us, running weekly piano classes for the children. It’s a joy to watch her inspire the children through music. We are so proud of everything Sally does for the children and incredibly grateful to have her as a valued member of our team. Her dedication and kindness make a lasting difference, and we’re lucky to have her with us!

Did you know…

That we have a new Recycled Arts Materials Station in the Kinder Hallway? We would love any donations of items such as cardboard, containers, lids from jars, and any other recyclable materials that can inspire our children’s creativity. These materials will be used for a variety of exciting art projects, helping the children to engage in hands-on, imaginative activities while learning about sustainability. If you have any recyclable materials lying around that could be repurposed for art, we would be thrilled to give them a second life in our creative space.

Our favourite social post…

This week, our favourite reel features our amazing Police Incursion. Watch it here: instagram.com/p/DHmoC87TZI8/

Next week…

This coming Wednesday, we’re excited to have our monthly Messy Play session with Asten, and this month’s theme is Easter inspired! It’s going to be a fun, hands on experience for the children, so make sure to pack an extra change of clothes for your child, as things are sure to get MESSY! We can’t wait to see all the creativity and fun unfold!

Next Friday, our Kinder 3 and 4 classes will be participating in an exciting Water Safety Incursion, and we couldn’t be more excited! This fun and informative session will teach the children valuable lessons about staying safe around water. Plus, we will get a special visit from Kingsley the Platypus, we can’t wait!

Don’t forget…

We want to take a moment to remind families that we are always accepting donations for our Community Corner. Whether it’s snacks, nappies, clothes, or any other useful items, all donations are deeply appreciated. These contributions help us support families in our Choklits community and ensure that everyone has what they need. If you have anything you’d like to donate, please feel free to drop it off at the front desk.

We’d love your help to help us improve at Choklits…
