Hello Families,
What a fantastic week we’ve had at Choklits Ringwood, brimming with learning, laughter, and love! Our little learners have been busy exploring all sorts of exciting activities this week—from cooking adventures and sensory play to celebrating Valentine’s Day through arts, crafts, and heart-warming conversations about Friendship.
This Week’s Highlights…
Nursery: Our nursery children had a blast celebrating both Pizza Day and Valentine’s Day by making heart-shaped pizzas! What a sweet touch! During this fun cooking experience, the children explored different textures, shapes, and colours, all while enjoying the creativity of making their own pizzas.
Pre-Toddlers: The pre-toddlers also got their hands messy making delicious pizzas, which were the perfect treat for afternoon tea! This hands-on experience not only sparked creativity but also helped them learn about healthy food choices, teamwork, and the joy of cooking. Additionally, the children explored their sense of belonging and identity by creating a family tree using your family photos. And, of course, there were plenty of Valentine’s Day themed arts and crafts activities!
Toddlers: The toddlers had an exciting time outdoors rescuing frozen animals – a perfect activity for the warm weather! Playdough was also a big hit, sparking plenty of creative and sensory play in the toddler room.
Kinder 3: Our Kinder 3 children joined in the fun with their own pizza-making celebration, using English muffins as their base and adding a variety of toppings. In addition, they explored the wonders of science with a super fun experiment making oobleck! This messy and magical activity gave them a rich sensory experience, allowing them to explore textures, temperatures, and different consistencies while enhancing their sensory processing skills.
Kinder 4: The Kinder 4 children also enjoyed creating their own delicious pizzas for Pizza Day! They were also very excited for their first excursion of the year to the library, where they had a wonderful time exploring new books. To top off the week, they had a fantastic visit from Bonnie and Anna from the Pet Responsible Program, where they learned all about staying safe around dogs.
It’s been a week full of joy and meaningful learning experiences, and we can’t wait to see what next week brings!
Educator Spotlight …
Sophie is our Auslan Teacher and is also Deaf. Sophie works very closely with our Kindergarten team to create a supportive learning environment where Auslan is incorporated into everyday activities, ensuring that every child feels connected and understood.
A reminder about our Birthday Mail Program…
A recap … we are thrilled to introduce our new Birthday Mail Program. Starting Monday, 17th February, every child will receive a personalised birthday card from their educators, which they can collect from our Birthday Mail Box located at the front of the service.
We believe this small gesture will make their special day even more memorable, helping them feel cherished and connected within our Choklits community. We also encourage you to involve family and friends in this celebration! You are welcome to have them send cards to our service, which your child can collect on their birthday. Alternatively, you can drop off cards at the service, and we’ll make sure to place them in the mailbox for your child to discover on their special day.
Children who have already celebrated their birthday this year will not miss out. Their birthday cards will be placed in the Birthday Mail box on Monday, 17th February
Looking forward…
