Ringwood Update, Friday March 14th, 2025

Hello Families,

It’s been a short but truly incredible week here at Choklits Ringwood! Our service shared many magical moments with our butterflies as they captivated us all with their stunning colours and intricate patterns. But that’s not all, our week was also bursting with vibrant colours and rich cultural traditions as we joyfully celebrated Holi, the festival of colours. It was a beautiful experience that filled the air with excitement and brought us all closer together.

Highlights from the Week…

Nursery: To celebrate Holi, our nursery children explored vibrant colours by decorating white shirts with fabric paint, connecting with the festival’s traditions. They also engaged with sensory items, shaking sensory bottles, playing with blocks, and examining colourful pieces at the sensory table. This hands-on experience not only celebrated the spirit of Holi but also helped develop their fine motor skills and sensory awareness.

Pre-Toddlers: Our little learners in the Pre-toddler room had a fantastic time painting their own butterflies outside in the yard. In addition, they had a blast creating colourful play dough, a fun activity that not only sparked their creativity but also helped develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory exploration. Play dough is a wonderful tool for children to strengthen their hand muscles, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and express themselves in a tactile way.

Toddlers: The toddler children had an eventful week filled with discovery and creativity. They began by witnessing the miracle of life as they closely observed a newly emerged butterfly, which they lovingly named Florence. The children were mesmerised by its delicate beauty before releasing it into the sky, marking a truly magical moment. Inspired by this experience, the toddlers eagerly participated in a fun and engaging art activity, painting their own butterflies with vibrant colours, expressing their creativity and imagination. To continue the celebration of colour, the children also joined in the festivities of Holi, the Festival of Colours. They participated in a lively and interactive activity that not only introduced them to the cultural significance of the festival but also allowed them to explore colours in a hands-on way

Kinder 3: Our Kinder 3 children caught the butterfly fever as well, joining the Kinder 4 children in a truly special moment when they released their butterflies into the sky. It was a heartwarming experience that filled the children with awe and wonder. Alongside this, the Kinder 3 children also participated in the Holi celebration, diving into a fun science experiment where they learned about primary and secondary colours. This hands-on activity not only deepened their understanding of colour mixing but also sparked their curiosity and creativity. It was a week full of learning, exploration, and shared memories for our little learners.

Kinder 4: Inspired by the butterflies, the Kinder 4 children engaged in an exciting art provocation where they were encouraged to create their own versions of butterflies. They carefully observed the intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and the different parts of the butterfly’s body, using these details to guide their creations. In addition to their creative work, our Kinder 4 children are also focusing on school readiness by practicing phonics and developing important life skills. Each day, they practice packing up their backpacks, a simple but essential task that helps them build a sense of responsibility and prepares them for their transition to school. It’s a wonderful blend of creativity and readiness, setting the stage for future success!
