Hello Families,
What an exciting and joy-filled week it’s been here at Choklits Ringwood! The laughter, learning, and little moments of magic just keep on coming, and we’re loving every minute of it.
A huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful mums (and special guests!) who joined us for our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea last week. It was such a heartwarming celebration, and we absolutely loved sharing that special time with you. The smiles, the hugs, and the sweet conversations made it a truly memorable afternoon.
Exciting news…
We’re excited to announce that Choklits Ringwood will once again be hosting the Biggest Morning Tea, and we’d love for you to join us. This special event will take place on Friday, 23rd May. Click here to hear from Sukh and Megan.
Our wonderful staff will be preparing a selection of delicious treats for you to grab and go for morning tea, and we warmly invite families to come along, enjoy some tasty bites, and support a meaningful cause.
All funds raised will go directly to the Cancer Council, helping to support vital cancer research, prevention programs, and services for those impacted by cancer.
Together, we can make a difference, one cup cake at a time.
Family Room Suggestion Box…
At Choklits, we are always striving to grow and improve in everything we do and we truly value your input. To facilitate this, a suggestion box has been placed in our Family Room (previously known as the paint room) for you to add your feedback and suggestions (anonymously should you wish). Your voice plays a vital role in shaping our future.
Highlights from the week…
Yoga has been full of energy and surprises lately! Last week, Tanaya brought in a giant balancing bean, and the children absolutely loved it. They had a blast building strength, improving balance, and turning yoga into a fun adventure.
This week, Tanaya introduced Hopscotch Yoga, using rings with different poses inside. The children danced to music, then froze to strike a pose when it stopped. Our younger ones especially enjoyed hopping like bunnies and stretching along the hopscotch path.
Alongside all the movement, the children are also learning calming breathing exercises, great tools for managing big emotions. We can’t wait to see what creative ideas Tanaya brings next!
We were absolutely thrilled to welcome back Merrilyn for Green Thumbs this week, oh, how we’ve missed her! Her warm smile and passion for gardening brought instant joy to the centre.
This week, Merrilyn worked closely with our Kinder 3 group, getting their hands dirty (in the best way!) as they explored the wonderful world of gardening. The children loved planting, digging, and learning all about how things grow. It was a beautiful blend of nature, curiosity, and teamwork. We’re so happy to have Merrilyn back, and we’re already looking forward to more green adventures ahead!
This week at Choklits, we dove into the world of STEM learning with some super fun and hands-on experiments that had the children amazed and curious!
The highlights? Our Magic Milk experiment, watching colours swirl and dance, was like a little science magic show! And our Germs Experiment helped the children understand how germs spread and why handwashing is so important, all in a playful and visual way.
These engaging activities sparked lots of “oohs” and “wows,” while encouraging critical thinking, observation skills, and plenty of giggles along the way. We love making learning this exciting!
Educator spotlight…
We’d love to give a heartfelt shout-out to the amazing Sophie, our passionate and inspiring Auslan teacher. Her energy is truly contagious, and her love for teaching shines through in every session.
Sophie brings so much joy as she helps the children learn to sign their names and explore the richness of sign language. She also supports our educators by introducing respectful and inclusive ways to communicate with Deaf individuals. Her work goes far beyond teaching language, it’s about nurturing empathy, deepening understanding, and fostering kindness throughout our community.
Sophie is currently working with us here at Choklits Ringwood, and we’re excited to share that she’ll soon be bringing her wonderful Auslan sessions to our other two services as well. We’re so grateful to have her helping us build a more inclusive and compassionate environment for everyone.
