Hello Families,
This week brought all the cosy autumn vibes, cool breezes, crisp air, and leaves swirling through the sky like they were dancing just for us. It may have been a shorter week, but it was just as wonderful as ever.
Highlights from the week…
Earth Day and Anzac Day: This week, our children took part in some truly meaningful conversations about how to care for our planet. Through thoughtful discussions and hands-on activities, they explored ways to make a positive impact on the environment. One of the standout moments was seeing the children take initiative by collecting rubbish around the yard and learning to save energy by turning off the lights when they’re not needed.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve now introduced turning off the lights at sleep time into our daily routine. These small steps help build lifelong habits, and it’s inspiring to see our young learners leading the way!
In addition, to commemorate ANZAC Day, our children rolled up their sleeves and baked a batch of classic ANZAC cookies for afternoon tea, and they turned out beautifully. The delicious aroma filled the room, and the children were so proud of their creations. They even made extra cookies to take home and share with their families.
This meaningful activity was more than just baking, it provided a thoughtful opportunity to talk about the importance of ANZAC Day, honouring the bravery of our soldiers and recognising the strength and sacrifice behind their service. A truly special way to learn, reflect, and remember.
Educator spotlight…
A big shout-out to Sunanda for her incredible care and dedication in the nursery room. Sunanda is always smiling, always positive, and always ready to lend a helping hand to her colleagues. Her warm presence and can-do attitude make such a difference each day. She consistently demonstrates strong communication and provides a steady, nurturing environment, both key components of the Choklits pillars. Thank you, Sunanda, for everything you do!
Did you know…
Did you know Tracey in the Toddlers Room just reached a unique milestone? This week, we had the absolute joy of celebrating Tracey’s incredible 20-year anniversary at Choklits. Two decades of unwavering dedication, genuine care, and a lasting impact on so many lives, what an achievement! Congratulations, Tracey, you’re truly one of a kind, and we’re so lucky to have you as part of the Choklits family.
