Hello Families,
What a fantastic week we’ve had at Choklits Surrey Hills! The children have been fully immersed in their learning through a range of exciting, play-based experiences that support their development across all areas.
We enjoyed all our regular incursions—Farsi with Diba, Mandarin with Josie, and Music with Gabe, who always gets us moving and grooving! The week also included calming Yoga with Tanaya and a high-energy session with Little Sports Heroes, helping us build strength, coordination and confidence.
Tell a Fairy Tale Day…
The centre was filled with magic, imagination, and storytelling as we celebrated Tell a Fairy Tale Day! Children explored classic tales through dress-ups, puppet play, storytime, and creative arts. These experiences help build early literacy skills, support language development, and encourage children to express ideas and emotion. Check out our reel here.
Bush Kinder…
Our Kinder children headed out for another inspiring Bush Kinder session. Surrounded by nature, they explored, investigated, and connected with the environment, strengthening their sense of responsibility and belonging. Bush Kinder supports and encourages children to care for the land, learn through hands-on experiences, and build confidence in natural spaces. For more information on the benefits of bush kinder check out our blog at choklits.com.au/bush-kinder-at-choklits/

We wanted to highlight some of the awesome work that we have been doing through the month of March. These experiences go towards our March Research Goal (Good health and wellbeing). The key areas we have been focusing on are Physical, Social, Mental health as well as hygiene practices. Next time you are walking through our hallway, please stop to have a look at our display wall.
‘Good Health and Wellbeing’ Experiences:

As March comes to a close in a couple of weeks, we would like to get parents voting for our next month’s Research Goal. This month we will be opening up the voting to our educators as well to provide an opportunity to gain different perspectives and approaches.
Our choices for April are the following:
- Clean water and sanitation
- Life on Land
- Affordable and Clean Energy
Voting is still open so please make sure you visit our google form here to learn more about each area of focus to get a better understanding of what we will be working towards and how we plan to improve these areas.
Educator spotlight…
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the amazing Angie, our Toddler Room Leader.
Angie brings warmth, energy, and a deep understanding of early childhood development to everything she does. She leads the Toddler Room with care and confidence, creating a nurturing space where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Her play-based approach helps children build independence, curiosity, and strong relationships. Angie’s positive impact is felt every day, and we’re so lucky to have her guiding our toddlers through such an important stage of their learning journey.
Thank you, Angie, for all that you do!

Nature Play Week…
We’re excited to be taking part in Nature Play Week from April 2nd to April 13th! It supports children’s physical development, wellbeing, and environmental awareness.
We’ll be planning a range of outdoor experiences during this time to help children discover, investigate, and engage with nature in meaningful ways. Stay tuned for more details!
