Over to Cooper…
I love working in early education and care because the early years are such a pivotal time in a child’s life and an integral component of their learning and developmental journey. The connections and relationships that they form during this time allow them to flourish and excel in the future. This passion to nurture and foster a learning environment which facilitates their development is how my passion started. Although, I am working as an administrator, I certainly will be expressing this excitement when I greet you and your children in the mornings and evenings. The completion of my science degree has allowed me to possess an in-depth understanding of the STEAM world. Working at Choklits gives me the opportunity to help embed this knowledge in the children’s curriculum. This will encourage children to explore the wonders of art and science, whilst also understanding the interconnection that exists between both of these worlds. These experiences that the children will be exposed to throughout the Choklits service act as a catalyst to ignite curiosity and innovation. At this service the children’s journey of the STEAM world will begin and thus prepare them for their future endeavours.
Throughout my career I’ve been most proud of completing my Science degree. Through this learning journey I have further developed a love for science. This curiosity and passion that I had for science, solidified my career journey of working in the healthcare sector, upon the completion of a medical degree. Understanding this was such a momentous moment as I was able to realise that I could use my understanding of the science world to yield exceptional outcomes for my patients.
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy: reading, playing the piano, walking the dogs and keeping active.
The cutest, funniest or most beautiful thing a child has ever said to me was “can plants breathe?” It was such a wonderful thing to ponder. This question was what paved our discussion about photosynthesis. Any questions affiliated with a scientific topic can set up a cascade of other questions to further consolidate the children’s understanding of the concept.
