Kelli is on the Nursery team at Choklits! She is a Mum of two teenage boys, one who is anaphylactic to bee stings but wants to study entomology when he gets older. Kelli has two dogs, two cats, a blue tongue lizard and a lot of fish which keeps her busy. She has been in child care for 7 years and cannot imagine doing anything else.
Over to Kelly…
I love working with children because it is so rewarding in so many ways. Watching them grow as individuals throughout the year and knowing I play a part in it is a wonderful feeling.
Every day I learn from them as they help me become a better educator and person in general.
I am most proud of the relationships I have built with the children in my care. Knowing that they are happy and content is very important to me. I strive to treat them as individuals and make their time in care as fun and loving as possible.
While I’m not working I love to spend time with my own children, getting creative with my own art projects, spending time with friends and family, camping, cooking and improving my own life. I love being outdoors and enjoy art activities and creating things.
It’s is hard to pick a favourite or most memorable thing a child has said to me as there have been so many. But I love it when a child tells me that I am their favourite teacher and showers me with hugs. Because children are always so honest, I know that they mean it and that I am doing a great job making them feel safe and supported.
I believe that working together with families is very important.
