Pinky is a 4-year-old Kindergarten Teacher at Choklits in Surrey Hills, has been working in early learning for over 2 years and holds a Master of Teaching.
Over to Pinky…
I love working in early education and care because it’s very fulfilling to provide a safe and nurturing space for children not to only grow, learn and thrive, but also to have fun and share playful, cheeky moments together before heading off to school. It’s also very rewarding seeing them grow physically and emotionally, confidently expressing themselves and becoming more and more independent in their learning, self-help skills and conflict resolution.
Throughout my career I’ve been most proud of building strong relationships with all children. As children are all unique, bringing different stories, strengths and skills, I’ve learned, adapted and been challenged to become a better teacher and friend to all my children. And also my drawing skills including Star Wars, Transformers, Bluey, Ninja Turtles, cats, cassowaries and 200 other characters and animals).
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy hanging out with friends, finding different hobbies to do, taking care of my baby plants and going on walks.
The funniest thing a child has said to me was “Pinky, you’re cheeky, my mum and dad already knows that.” This made me laugh and when I chatted to her parents about it, they said I was the topic of last night’s dinner conversation.
