It’s a time for making friends, learning amazing new things, growing in confidence, and getting ready for school. At Choklits, our funded Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs are designed to give your child the best possible start, all in a place that feels like a second home.

As children step into our kindergarten, they begin a wonderful journey from being dependent to becoming independent little learners. Their unique personalities shine, they build on their very first friendships, and they discover a love for learning that will last a lifetime. Our play-based program, led by kind and experienced teachers, makes every day a new adventure.

The Choklits Kindergarten Program

A special place to learn and grow confidence, trust, and excitement for your child’s future.

In our big, purpose-built kinder rooms, we run our funded Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten classes. We believe in the magic of learning together!

Sometimes our kinder groups collaborate and share spaces. We’ve found this is wonderful for getting children ready for school. The younger children look up to the older children and are inspired to try new things, while the older children become proud leaders and love to help their little friends. It’s a beautiful way to build a caring community.

The Choklits 3-Year-Old Kindergarten Program

This year is all about building confidence and having fun in a group. We focus on:

  • Group Activities: Learning how to share ideas and be a great friend.
  • Imaginative Play: Lots of opportunities for dress-ups and creative play, whether it’s with animals, families, or superheroes!
  • Fun Excursions: Exciting trips out and about based on what the children are learning.
  • Loose Parts Play: Using different materials in creative ways to solve problems and build amazing things.

In the year before school, we build on these skills with even more exciting learning experiences and activities:

  • A Second Language Program: Introducing children to a new language in a fun and playful way.
  • Music and Sports: Special music and sports programs tailored just for their age group.
  • Even More Excursions and Incursions: We have so many fun visitors and events! This includes drama and wild animal incursions, lessons on road and water safety, free dentist and hearing check-ups, pet awareness, and special Indigenous education sessions.
  • School Readiness: Getting ready for school is a big and exciting step. This special program helps teachers and families give children the best possible start by focusing on three important areas. It supports children’s communication skills, helping them with language, reading, and numbers. It also nurtures their wellbeing, which means helping them feel happy, confident, and learn how to play well with others. Finally, it focuses on making sure every child feels included and can participate in all the fun and learning, so no one misses out.

I would like to thank all the staffs of this Choklits Surrey Hill, especially the Director Qing and Manager Dee, for their support during this tough time for my child and I. I just moved to Box Hill, and I have had multiple tours around all the childcare in Box Hill. But there was not any make me feel satisfied with. As a result, I finally came across Choklits on a strong recommendation from a friend who has worked in the education industry for more than ten years. The environment inside is the cleanest childcare I have ever visited. And the teachers and children in this childcare are very kind. And the apps used for communication between families and educators is also very convenient for parents to know their children’s daily situation at any time. Teachers and the diretor will also communicate with each parent in a timely and patient manner. And they were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about my child in a short time. So my child adapted to this new environment with their help in few days. Also, the distribution ratio between children and teachers is appropriate. Almost every child receives timely care and attention. Especially children with allergies are also highly concerned and cared by Choklits. The Choklits’s food is very good and the facilities here are also very good. Parents are strongly recommended to send their children to this childcare. This is undoubtedly a great support for parents.

Four-Year-Old Kinder is for children in the year before school. If you are not sure when your child should start kinder or school, our teachers can talk with you and help you choose the best time.

Choklits offers the Victorian Government’s Free Kinder subsidy. This can save families over $4,200 across two years of kinder.

Because Choklits is a long day care centre, many families may also be able to use the Child Care Subsidy. This can make funded kinder in long day care a smart and simple choice for busy families.

Sessional kinder often runs for shorter set times on set days. Kinder at Choklits runs in a long day care setting, with longer hours that help working families.

School readiness is part of each kinder day. We help your child build communication, wellbeing and confidence. We also help them learn how to join in, ask for help, follow routines, make friends and try again.

We have strong links with local schools and support school visits where we can. Our goal is for your child to start school feeling safe, proud and ready for the next step.

Yes. Healthy meals are included as part of your child’s Choklits day. Our meals are made for your child and prepared by our chefs onsite, so you do not need to pack a lunch like you may need to do at some sessional kinders.

Yes. Our kinder children enjoy a rich calendar of fun events, special days, visits, incursions and learning programs. These can include music, sport, language, drama, animal visits, safety learning and everything included in CHOKLITS+.
