Abbey is an Educator at Choklits in Croydon. She began her Early Childhood Education journey at Choklits in 2024, completing her traineeship while still in high school, before joining the team full-time in 2025. Abbey holds a Certificate III and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

I am passionate about working in early childhood education because it is incredibly rewarding to watch children grow, learn, and develop into their own unique individuals. I enjoy supporting and fostering children’s learning and development across all areas, including their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills. Building positive relationships with children has always come naturally to me, and I love creating a nurturing and supportive environment where they feel safe, valued, and confident to explore the world around them. Being part of each child’s learning journey and celebrating their achievements, big and small, is what makes working in early education so meaningful and fulfilling.
Throughout my career I’ve been most proud of my dedication and commitment to early childhood education from a young age. One of my greatest achievements was completing my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care before leaving high school, followed by completing my Diploma before the age of 20. These accomplishments reflect my passion for the industry and my determination to build a strong foundation for my career. I am also proud of the meaningful relationships I have built with children, families, and colleagues, and the positive impact I have had on children’s learning and development. Watching children grow in confidence, achieve milestones, and develop into their own unique individuals is incredibly rewarding, and being part of their learning journey is something I am very proud of.
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, and loved ones. I value creating special memories with the people closest to me and making the most of my time outside of work. I also enjoy playing netball, which helps me stay active, build teamwork skills, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Whether it’s socialising, being involved in sport, or simply enjoying time with those I care about, I love keeping busy and making the most of every opportunity.
One of the cutest and most heartwarming things children have ever said to me is hearing those who are learning to speak and form words trying their very best to say my name. Watching them practice, improve, and eventually master saying it clearly is such a special moment and reminds me of the important role educators play in a child’s development. There is also no feeling quite like walking through the door each morning and being greeted by children running up to me with huge smiles, telling me they missed me and wrapping me in the biggest cuddles. These moments make me feel valued, appreciated, and incredibly grateful to be part of their lives. They are a constant reminder of the strong relationships and sense of trust that can be built with children and are some of the most rewarding parts of working in early childhood education.
