Hello Families,
What a fantastic week we’ve had! With the arrival of a new month, we’ve welcomed fresh room setups, new educational plans, and plenty of exciting activities. It’s been a week filled with new opportunities for learning and fun, and we couldn’t be more excited about all that’s to come. From creative activities to engaging lessons, the week has been packed with memorable moments, and we can’t wait to share the highlights with you.
Messy Play…
This week, Asten set up the most incredible Easter inspired messy sensory play, and it was a huge hit with the children! Sensory play is such an important part of our program because it helps foster creativity, encourages exploration, and supports cognitive development. The children absolutely love getting messy and fully immersing themselves in the activities.
The children had the chance to dive into a variety of fun, hands-on experiences, including a hot cross bun station where they could get involved in shaping and decorating their own buns. They also enjoyed egg painting, letting their imaginations run wild as they added their own personal touches to colourful eggs. These activities, along with many others, allowed the children to engage their senses and develop fine motor skills in a playful, joyful way.
Swim Safety Incursion…
On Friday, our Kinders had the opportunity to participate in a fantastic swim incursion focused on water safety, and it was such an informative and important session. The children were fully engaged as they learned valuable lessons that will stay with them for a lifetime. The session included a variety of interactive and fun elements, such as a storybook presentation that helped convey essential water safety messages in an engaging way, rescue games that taught them important skills, and a catchy safety song and dance that had everyone moving and singing along.
It was amazing to see the children so excited and involved, absorbing all the crucial lessons about being safe around water. We’re incredibly grateful to King Swim for providing this presentation and for their dedication to teaching water safety in such a fun and educational manner. It was a memorable experience for everyone, and we know the children walked away with a greater understanding of how to stay safe in and around water.
Room Leader Offsite…
This week, our Room Leaders and Educational Leaders had the incredible opportunity to spend a day offsite with Jade and Matt, the owners of Choklits, as well as Deb, our Area Manager. It was a day dedicated to learning, communication, and teamwork, where everyone came together to reflect and grow as leaders. The offsite focused on deepening our understanding of leadership at Choklits, highlighting the importance of communication and visibility in our roles, strengthening connections within our teams and with our families, and providing a space to share experiences, reflect on our practices, and learn from one another. It was a truly valuable experience, and we’re excited to bring these new insights back to our daily work as we continue to support and grow together.
Educator spotlight…
This week, we’re shining the Educator Spotlight on Maddy Amore from our Pre Kinder room. Maddy has truly become a cherished member of our team, building strong and meaningful relationships with both the children and their families. Her warm and friendly presence makes her a familiar and comforting face every day, and it’s clear that the children have a deep connection with her.
Maddy consistently demonstrates incredible initiative, always going above and beyond to ensure the room runs smoothly and efficiently. Whether it’s organising activities, supporting the other educators, or finding new ways to enhance the children’s learning experiences, Maddy approaches every task with dedication and enthusiasm. Her proactive attitude and attention to detail make a huge difference in the daily flow of the room.
Not only is Maddy a standout in her role, but she’s also an exceptional team player. Her willingness to collaborate, share ideas, and support her fellow educators creates a positive and cohesive atmosphere. We are so grateful for the passion and commitment Maddy brings to our team each day. Thank you, Maddy, for everything you do!
Did you know…
That we have a new Recycled Arts Materials Station in the Kinder Hallway? We would love any donations of items such as cardboard, containers, lids from jars, and any other recyclable materials that can inspire our children’s creativity. These materials will be used for a variety of exciting art projects, helping the children to engage in hands-on, imaginative activities while learning about sustainability. If you have any recyclable materials lying around that could be repurposed for art, we would be thrilled to give them a second life in our creative space.
Our favourite social post…
This week, we were so excited about our new room set ups for April. One of the highlights we couldn’t wait to share is the beautiful fairy garden from our Pre-Kinder room! We’ve captured it in a reel and are thrilled to give you a sneak peek at all the creativity and magic that’s been brought to life. Be sure to check it out here.
Next week…
Next week, our Kinder 4s will be heading out on another exciting Bush Kinder adventure! Please make sure that on Wednesday, the children are dressed in appropriate clothing and wearing closed toed shoes, as they’ll be exploring the outdoors.
