Hello families,
What a chilly start and end to each day we’ve had this week! With crisp mornings and cool evenings setting in, we’ve made the most of the sunshine when it peeks through. Our outdoor spaces have still been buzzing with play, discovery, and learning, even in jumpers and beanies! It was a short week with the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday, but we certainly packed a lot into the days we had together.
Learning Through Incursions…
Our regular weekly programs continued to support children’s holistic development across all age groups. These engaging sessions help nurture each child’s identity, wellbeing, and confidence, as outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF):
- Mandarin and Farsi language classes enriched children’s communication skills and cultural awareness, building a sense of respect and inclusivity
- Activate with Emily supported physical development and wellbeing through fun, energetic movement
- Piano with Regina and Music with Gabe sparked creativity, focus, and expression as children explored rhythm and melody
- Yoga with Tanya encouraged mindfulness and body awareness, supporting self-regulation and mental wellbeing
- Little Sports Heroes promoted teamwork, gross motor skill development, and social interaction through guided physical play
- Phonics with Chai helped build early literacy skills through fun, interactive sound and letter games—laying the foundations for reading and communication
Bush Kinder Adventures…
Our Kindergarten children ventured out for Bush Kinder, where they connected with nature and explored the world around them. These experiences help children develop a sense of belonging to the land and foster environmental responsibility.
Outdoor Improvements…
We’re thrilled to share that the Kindergarten team has been working hard on enhancing our outdoor play environments. New outdoor resources have been carefully selected to support open-ended, imaginative play. The Mud Kitchen has also received a revamp, ready for plenty of sensory-rich experiences that inspire curiosity, cooperation, and creative thinking.
These enhancements ensure our environments remain responsive and engaging, supporting all children to feel safe, included, and capable of learning through play—at the heart of what we do at Choklits.
Next Week…
We’re looking forward to another fun-filled week ahead with all our regular incursions and special activities planned. Messy play with Asten is next Wednesday as well as the Kinder excursion to Our Lady of Pines. Don’t forget to check out our Choklits Calendar of Events to stay up to date with everything happening across the centre!
