Surrey Hills Update, Friday March 14th, 2025

2 2

Hello Families,

We’ve had another fantastic week filled with learning, laughter, and lots of exciting activities!

Here’s a look at what we got up to…

Bush Kinder Excursion to Bluebell Hill Reserve

Our nature explorers had a wonderful time at Bluebell Hill Reserve this week! We ventured through the beautiful trails, observed wildlife, and talked about the importance of caring for our environment. The children loved spotting different plants and insects while enjoying some fresh air and outdoor play. Tuesday and Thursday will be the days that the Kinder children go on excursions. If you don’t want to miss out on these experiences, feel free to book a casual day to ensure your child can join in the fun!

We have a new blog on our Choklits website with more information about these excursions and the importance of getting out and into nature. Please click here to discover the benefits of getting into nature.

Holi Festival Celebrations

The centre was bursting with colour as we celebrated the Holi Festival of Colours! The children had so much fun learning about this joyful tradition through storytelling, music, and, of course, vibrant colour activities. It was a fantastic way to embrace diversity and spread happiness.

Water Play

As the weather is still quite warm this month, the children have been engaging in a range of activities with water. The educators have created some water painting experiences that the children have enjoyed. Children have been able to express their creativity while they keep cool outdoors.

Plant to Plate

Using good produce for our cooking classes is a great way to promote children’s physical health. That is why we have planted our own vegetable crops in our very own ‘Choklits garden’. This is a great way for our children to learn about where their food comes from and understand the importance of growing their own produce. They can then reap the rewards of their hard work and use their own vegetables to cook with and eat for their afternoon tea.

Yoga with Tanaya

We’ve been encouraging relaxation and self-awareness through our yoga sessions. The children practiced different poses and breathing exercises to help with focus and calmness. These are important skills for both little and big minds! We have some information about how we can get the most out of these Yoga sessions and what this learning does for our bodies. Check out our Blog here.

Educator Spotlight…

Educator Spotlight shines on our dedicated educator, MaryamFor those that do not know, Maryam is a part of our Toddler room team. Every morning she greets our parents at our morning family grouping and creates a calm, nurturing environment for the children to start their day. Maryam is a very passionate educator that uses her caring nature to guide her practices in the Toddler room. Maryam is great at running her enthusiastic group times with the children. She is able to captivate all children with her dramatic storytelling ability. We look forward to seeing what else Maryam can bring to the Toddler room.

Preparing for Easter…

Excitement is in the air as we start preparing for Easter!. We can’t wait to see what Easter-themed fun there is planned in the coming weeks, including our much-anticipated Easter Egg Hunt!
