Dear Families,
What a fantastic week we’ve had at Choklits! Our little learners have been busy exploring, playing, and celebrating special events. Here’s a recap of all the excitement:
Pancake Day Fun! This week, we flipped, topped, and tasted delicious pancakes in celebration of Pancake Day! The children had a blast choosing their favourite toppings for their own pancakes. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that engaged all the senses.
Judo: Our young martial artists have started to build their strength, balance, and confidence in their Judo sessions. It’s amazing to see how much they enjoy learning new moves while also practicing discipline and respect.
Yoga with Tanaya: We’ve been encouraging relaxation and self-awareness through our yoga sessions. The children practiced different poses and breathing exercises to help with focus and calmness. These are important skills for both little and big minds!
Rhythm and Move: The centre was filled with beautiful sounds as our children explored rhythm, instruments, and singing during music class. The music team focused on the changing of the seasons this week. Music is such a fantastic way to boost confidence and creativity, and we loved seeing everyone express themselves through sound.
International Women’s Day: On Thursday and Friday, we are celebrating International Women’s Day. Through stories and activities, we discussed kindness, equality, and the importance of empowering one another.
Ocean Week Adventures: Our exploration of the ocean was full of excitement! The children learned about sea creatures, the importance of protecting our oceans, and even created their own underwater-themed art. It was wonderful to see their curiosity come to life!
Little Sports Heroes: From running and jumping to teamwork and coordination, our sports sessions were packed with energy with every effort! The children are developing essential motor skills while having so much fun staying active. Increasing their awareness of their own movements and surroundings while they engage in advanced activities.
Next week, we have more exciting activities planned, including Holi on Friday the 14th. We will be starting our Bush Kinder Excursions next week with the return of our wonderful Kinder 4 Teacher Sue! We have a new blog on our Choklits website with more information about these excursions and the importance of getting out and into nature. Click the link here to see further
Learning Initiative: (Choklits Sustainability Development Research Goals)…
Focusing on our contributions to our community and environment, we have developed a new Choklits research program. We are excited to offer you, the parents, an opportunity to get involved in how your children learn, reflect and play through this research initiative. Our team at Choklits has been focusing on the ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’ global sustainability and development goal.
We have begun organising and executing our goals for this focus area. Our little learners have made some big efforts to develop their Physical health, awareness of hygiene and social health. We can’t wait to share some of the amazing work we are doing for this month’s focus.
Make sure you stop by our display for this month to see how we have been contributing to a very important part of our community.
Using the AEDC(Australian Early Development Census) we are able to identify what areas of health children are most vulnerable. This Census is based on the local council area with our area being the Whitehorse community. Feel free to read more about this useful information regarding our community growth.
Educator Spotlight…
Educator Spotlight shines on our dedicated educator, Ratna.
Ratna has been an early childhood educator for over 5 years with an abundance of experience with children. Ratna has shown great leadership and care for the children’s environment. It has been a pleasure to see her as a great role model for the Kinder children and how she brings her love for teaching to the Kinder program. In Sue’s absence Ratna has ensured that the 4 year old Kinder program has run smoothly and led the room with enthusiasm. Thank you for being part of our team at Choklits Ratna!
