Choklits Podcast
Just like all the children who attend Choklits, we’re always learning ourselves!
Recently we played around with an AI tool to produce this podcast about choosing child care and Choklits.
If you’re the type of person who likes to know all the details but doesn’t have hours to go through our entire website (it’s huge!) this will be perfect.
We apologise for the accents (we’re still learning and not sure how to change them yet) but here you go, enjoy!

Hello Choklits Families,
Happy Friday!!!
This week at Choklits Ringwood has been a very fun filled week full of lots of excitement.
Our orientations have begun, children have been spending time exploring their new rooms for 2025 along with meeting new educators and children! We have had our 4- year-old kindergarten graduation and our end-of-year celebration! What a wonderful week!
Wednesday afternoon was such a great success, and it was wonderful to see all our amazing families and older siblings who are past Choklits students! We were excited to welcome Sue and David along as our special guests, a big thanks to David for cooking the fantastic sausage sizzle with his assistant Ivy! As many of you know Sue worked at Choklits Ringwood for 28 years and now works remotely assisting our admin teams. From raffles to face painting, giant bubbles and Julian the magician bringing the magic it was a fun filled evening to celebrate 2024!

Our children have been busy bodies this week, many leaning into the festive season through craft, songs, and sensory activities! Lets dive into the highlights:
Highlights from the week…
Nursery: In our Nursery Room the children have been excitedly making Christmas cards to gift to their family using stencils and paint as well as crafting wooden Christmas ornaments, adding sparkle and glitter through sequins and glitter paint. Each decoration glimmers and shines!
Pre-Toddler: In the Pre-Toddler Room this week, many children have been spending time orientating into our Toddler room and excitedly visiting the chickens whilst exploring the big yard! Not forgetting the amazing craft projects and crafting snow men to explore this festive season.
Toddler: In the Toddler Room this week sensory activities were in full swing, from playdough to sensory bottles the children dove straight into the Christmas spirit, using red, green, silver and gold colouring to create sensory bottles full of sequins, glitter and stars. Sensory bottles offer children a great tool to support emotional regulation.
3 Year old Kinder: In the 3-year-old kinder room this week, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas as a new sensory table was introduced for children to delve into and explore. To extend on the exploration of Christmas the children had a go at crafting mini-Christmas trees. Using popsicle sticks with a little glue and lots of imagination, each tree turned out unique! Children added some sparkly star decorations on top and used a bit of glitter to give them magic.
4 Year Old Kinder: On Monday we had our 4-year-old graduation! A great morning to celebrate all the children and educators within the 4-year-old kinder room this year. We are very proud of all the children and wish them the very best as they make the transition into prep next year! The graduation was filled with laughter and pride as the children performed three songs, were presented with their certificates and enjoyed morning tea with all their supporting family and friends!

Hello Choklits Families,
Happy Friday!
What an incredible week it has been! After weeks of preparation and fine-tuning, we officially launched KinderM8 on Monday. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we’ve navigated this new system. It’s an exciting change, and we look forward to sharing even more of your child’s learning journey with you through this platform. Now to the highlights:Â
Highlights from the Week…
Nursery: Our little ones were busy preparing for the festive season, creating beautiful gifts for their families as part of our end-of-year celebrations. These activities nurtured creativity and fine motor skills while fostering a sense of accomplishment and generosity.
Pre-Toddlers: The festive spirit continued with the children designing Christmas ornaments and crafting heartfelt gifts for their families. These activities supported sensory exploration, creativity, and developing fine motor skills.
Toddlers: A lively rhythm and movement session with Tom had our toddlers grooving this week! These sessions encourage physical coordination, listening skills, and self-expression, helping children develop a love for music and movement.
3-Year-Old Kinder: The children explored their emotions, discussing ways to identify and express how they feel. These conversations build self-awareness and empathy, fostering emotional literacy. The children also engaged in festive crafts, including creating scratch paper designs and wrapping stars with foil for our classroom Christmas tree.Â
4-Year-Old Kinder: Our kinders embraced independence and collaboration this week. They prepared their own lunches, selecting and assembling their meals with care. This activity promoted decision-making and responsibility while boosting their confidence. During our weekly bush talk, the children worked together to build a shelter in nature, showcasing teamwork and problem-solving skills as they determined the best materials and techniques. Back in the Kinder room, they enjoyed creative group projects, exploring ideas with their friends, and decorated our Christmas tree, sharing stories and laughter along the way.Â

Hello Choklits Families,
Happy Friday!
What a week it’s been at Choklits! The children were buzzing with excitement as we welcomed some adorable farm animals to the centre, thanks to Animals on the Move. From fluffy lambs to playful piglets, there were smiles, giggles, and plenty of hands-on learning. Here’s a look at the wonderful activities that unfolded across our rooms this week:
Nursery: Our littlest learners had such a special time meeting the farm animals. Some children were eager to pat the lambs, rabbits, and ducks, while others chose to observe from a cozy distance. We loved hearing them imitate animal sounds—it was too cute! This experience encouraged curiosity and supported sensory exploration, a key part of the Early Years Learning Framework.
Pre-Toddlers: The Pre-Toddlers were thrilled to meet the animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, bunnies, and even a baby cow! They practised gentle touch and showed so much care while interacting with the animals. It was a beautiful opportunity for them to develop empathy and patience while building their confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Toddlers: The Toddlers had a jam-packed week! Meeting animals like piglets, rabbits, and ducks brought out their kindness and curiosity. They also had a fantastic time with Merrilyn in the garden, planting sunflowers and learning all about how they grow. Afterward, they got creative by making their own sunflower crafts, which were as unique as the children themselves! These activities supported hands-on learning and creativity while fostering a deeper connection to nature.
3-Year-Old Kinder: The 3-Year-Old Kinder children channelled their artistic side this week by creating Christmas-themed posters using cookie cutters shaped like gingerbread men and snowflakes. They also worked on their Christmas wreaths, exploring textures and colours in the process. The children loved collaborating on these projects, building teamwork and a sense of pride in their creations. Of course, the farm animal visit was a big hit too, adding an extra layer of joy and excitement to their week!
4-Year-Old Kinder: With the warm weather, the 4-Year-Old Kinder children jumped straight into some refreshing water play. They invented their own games, like creating “water parks” for their animal toys, which encouraged imaginative play and teamwork.
They read The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas, a heartwarming story about a little monster who learns to understand his mixed emotions with the help of colours. After reading, the children shared their own feelings, particularly the mixed emotions they experienced during school orientations, and we talked about how different colours can represent different emotions.
Inspired by the book, the kinders then got creative with crayons and watercolours, experimenting to create our own vibrant rainbow pictures. They explored the different ways to mix colours, the children were able to express their emotions through their artwork.
In another exciting discovery, they noticed that the beans they planted last week had sprouted! The children were thrilled to see the little plants emerging and decided to transplant them into our garden, where they can continue to grow. It was a wonderful week of creativity, reflection, and hands-on learning!
Our Favourite Social Post…
This week, Merrilyn’s Green Thumbs Program brought so much joy to the Toddler room. The children learned about sunflowers while getting their hands dirty in the garden. You can check out the post here: Merrilyn’s Green Thumbs Program.

This week we honoured Remembrance Day with a meaningful minute of silence and a fun, creative activity making poppies. Here are some of the wonderful highlights from our week…
Highlights from the Week…
Nursery: Our Nursery group took a creative turn this week, diving into activities about transport. Painting with vehicle wheels was the standout – the children loved dipping wheels in paint and rolling them across paper, watching the vibrant tracks they created! They also got to work on their fine motor skills, crafting bright red poppies for Remembrance Day. The poppies created were a thoughtful way for them to connect with the meaning of Remembrance Day in their own playful and artistic way.
Pre-Toddlers: The Pre-Toddlers have been refining their fine motor skills using scissors, cutting, and creating with big smiles and plenty of concentration. This week’s storybook basket, featuring favourites like The Gruffalo, Wombat Stew, Dear Zoo, and The Very Busy Spider, has been an absolute hit! The children also joined in on making poppies for Remembrance Day, getting hands-on with paper, glue, and bright colours to create a special reminder of the day.
Toddlers: In the Toddler room, our focus was on exploring emotions. The children enjoyed using colours to talk about different feelings and created sensory bottles that represented happiness, sadness, calm, and excitement. They also loved working with playdough to mould and shape different “feeling faces,” which gave them a chance to express their emotions visually. And, of course, they joined in the Remembrance Day poppy-making activity, working as a team to make beautiful red flowers. Learning about emotions helps build social and emotional confidence, fostering self-awareness and respect for others.
3-Year-Old Kinder: Our 3-Year-Old Kinder group had a big week with their exciting Eva Burrows College excursion and a fun-filled Auskick session. Auskick brought out some great teamwork, with children learning new skills and cheering each other on. In class, they made colourful flowers using dot markers, paper plates, and scissors – a craft that encouraged fine motor skills and creativity.
4-Year-Old Kinder: The 4-Year-Old Kinder group has been busy as ever! This week, they had a special Bush Talk with Bek, discussing what makes our local environment unique and important. They also attended Bush Kinder, where they explored nature and discovered new plants, insects, and more. The highlight of the week was welcoming Cassie back from her holiday – the children were so excited to see her! Auskick made its way into the Kinder yard, bringing loads of energy to the day, and the children also explored their new chalkboard, drawing and writing up all sorts of imaginative ideas. This was a fantastic chance to practise both social and motor skills in a supportive, engaging way.
Welcome, Talisha!
We’re thrilled to introduce Talisha, our new educator for the Toddler Room! Talisha has just completed a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, bringing valuable knowledge and experience from over a year working in before and after-school care. We know she’ll be an incredible addition to our team and look forward to introducing her to all of you. Talisha’s passion for play-based learning aligns perfectly with our philosophy here at Choklits.
Our Favourite Social Post…
