Over to Nilusha…
I love working in early education because working with children allows me to have a significant impact on their development. I am getting to witness and contribute to their growth, including their cognitive, emotional, social, physical, language and overall life long skills. There’s something truly magical about nurturing young minds and helping them discover the world around them. The joy and curiosity that children bring into the rooms are truly magical and it’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of their growth and development journey. Additionally, the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives and lay the foundation for their future success fills me with a sense of purpose and fulfilment.
Throughout my career I’ve been most proud of the genuine connections I’ve formed with the children and their families. Building trust and rapport with young children is essential for creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment, and knowing that I’ve been able to establish meaningful relationships with them brings me immense pride. I’m proud of the moments when I’ve witnessed a child’s face light up with excitement as they grasp a new concept or master a skill that we’ve been working on together. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow as they realise their own capabilities and potential.
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s traveling, walking along the beach, or simply strolling through a local park, allows me to connect with nature and rejuvenate my spirit. Exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people enriches my life and broadens my horizons. Traveling allows me to gain fresh perspectives and create lasting memories. And, I cherish quality time spent with family and friends. Whether it’s engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying each other’s company, the support and love of my loved ones are invaluable to me.
One of the cutest things a child said to me was “Nilusha I love you a lot, you are my best friend”. It melted my heart to hear such a beautiful compliment from a child. It reminded me of the impact we as educators can have on young minds and how they perceive the world around them.
